The Halibut Cove Triangle
If you are short on time, and looking for outdoor activities, maybe you'd
like to go hiking across the bay in Kachemak Bay State Park, visit Halibut
Cove and have Dinner at the Saltry. We have the package for you, we call it
‘The Halibut Cove Triangle’.
Here is how it works: Bay Roamers Water Taxi will pick you up from the Homer
dock, drop you off at the Glacier Spit/Saddle Trail head where you are able
to hike the trail up to the Glacier Lake.
When
you are finished with your hike we pick you up from the saddle trail head
and take you into Halibut Cove dropping you off at the Saltry Restaurant.
After you have a chance to see Halibut Cove and have dinner you return to
Homer on the 9:00 PM Danny J.
For overnight guests of Cove Country Cabins Bay Roamers Water Taxi will
bring you to our dock. The morning of check out the return to Homer is at
10:00 AM On the Danny J.
It’s easy and efficient, just call us and we will make all the arrangements.
PADDLE/HIKE/DINE
Guided kayak tour in Peterson Bay, hiking in the state park, visit Halibut Cove and dine at the Saltry Restaurant.
Here is how it works: You will leave Homer dock with "St. Augustine's Kayak Tours" and do their popular guided half day kayak trip in Petersen Bay. When you finish there Bay Roamers Water Taxi will pick you up from the Peterson Bay dock and drop you off at the Glacier Spit/Saddle Trail head where you are able to hike the trail up to the Glacier Lake. When you are finished with your hike we pick you up from the Saddle Trail head and take you into Halibut Cove, dropping you off at the Saltry Restaurant. After dinner you return to Homer on the 9 PM Danny J ferry.
For those wishing to spend the night in Halibut Cove your return to Homer would be in the morning of your departure.
